Marvel Avengers Alliance 2 was the sequel to Marvel Avengers Alliance, a free to play RPG/combat game.

Avengers Alliance 2 had a lot going for it. It was the sequel to a great Facebook game, it had the full run of Marvel's licensed characters, and the combat was top-notch. For a free to play game, there was an awful lot to do - leveling characters, taking on story missions, even participating in player versus player fights. When the game shut down, it was definitely a blow for fans of good free games everywhere. This was a solid game that deserved more than it got.

Even while it was running, Avengers Alliance 2 had some problems. The game's transition into a 3D space led to some odd looking character models, and the game still had its predecessor's issue with slow-down. The game grinds to a halt in the later levels, especially if you don't spend money to unlock higher-tier characters. None of this matters as much as the company's decision to stop supporting the game, though. As of today, Avengers Alliance 2 is officially dead.

At the end of the day, this game is just another victim of Disney's decision to stop publishing games. Since the company behind the game has stopped supporting it, the shelf-life on this title is officially expired. It was a good game while it was still going, and it's a shame it won't get the chance to grow. Add this game to the pile of those that had their potential snuffed out because of a corporate decision.
